One-color metallic with minimal preparation starts at $6 per square foot with the same minimum plus a $300 equipment rental; two-color metallic starts at $7 per square foot. Final pricing depends on the slab, preparation, repairs, design, access, and project requirements.
Can you coat concrete that has cracks, paint, or an old coating?+
Often, but the surface must be evaluated first. Existing coatings may need to be removed, and agreed crack or surface repairs become part of the preparation scope. Concrete can continue to move, so repair limitations are documented rather than hidden.
Is epoxy the right choice for a patio, pool deck, or driveway?+
Not automatically. Exterior concrete is affected by sun, water, drainage, temperature, texture needs, and movement. Astro evaluates exterior-appropriate overlays, stains, sealers, or coating assemblies instead of treating every outdoor surface like an indoor epoxy floor.
How long does a residential floor coating take to install and cure?+
Installation and return-to-use timing vary with the selected system, slab condition, repairs, temperature, humidity, project size, and access. The written estimate identifies the expected sequence and when the floor can return to foot traffic, furniture, or vehicles.
Will a coated floor be slippery?+
Texture can be adjusted, but more texture can also make cleaning feel different. The right balance depends on whether the area is wet or dry, footwear, slope, use, and maintenance. No floor should be described as slip-proof.
Can I choose custom colors and finishes?+
Yes. Astro can work from neutral flake or quartz blends, custom metallic pairings, concrete-forward finishes, or decorative overlay fields and borders. Final selections are confirmed from current physical samples because screens and room lighting can change how a color reads.
